Extractions
Extractions are often categorized as "simple" or "surgical":
Simple extractions are performed on teeth that are visible in the mouth, usually under local anaesthetic.
Surgical extractions involve the removal of teeth that cannot be easily accessed, either because they have broken under the gum line or because they have not erupted fully. Typically this kind of procedure would involve sedation of the patient.
Implants
Single Tooth Replacement. Single missing teeth surrounded by healthy teeth have unique demands. The challenge is to replace your now missing tooth for both appearance and function, without harming your remaining teeth or gum tissue.
Multiple Tooth Replacement. Multiple teeth can be replaced by implants to give you back the aesthetics and function. Two or more teeth are replaced either with single implants, or by joining two or more implants together. The importance of replacing missing back teeth cannot be over emphasised as this is the area that gives the biting platform and support to the front teeth. Don’t forget the front teeth are designed for biting and the back teeth for chewing. Missing your chewing teeth can result in excess stresses on your front teeth which will cause damage in the long term.
Further procedures are available, please discuss with the implant specialist.
