Children are unique in their orthodontic needs. Many children can be reluctant to visit the dentist so it's important that children are made to feel welcome and relaxed.
Children's jaws and teeth differ from adults so they require different types of treatments. At Pearls we work with our Paediatric Specialist to ensure that children get the absolute best treatment. Our joint specialist approach ensures that your child receives the best treatment with the least amount of stress at an affordable price.
When should you send a patient to have an orthodontic assessment?
The ideal age for your patients to have their orthodontic assessment is 8 years of age.
Each child is unique in their orthodontic needs. An initial orthodontic assessment at this age allows an orthodontist to plan treatment to start at the optimal stage of their growth and development, which is often around 11 years of age.
However, there are some early intervention treatments that start at a younger age. These treatments are beneficial to children who's cases are more complex.
We can provide discreet, comfortable night braces. Worn in the home only, over night, they allow children to undergo early intervention treatment discreetly. They allow us an opportunity to avoid stressful and expensive treatments in the teenage years.
This optimal stage of their growth and development is a “window of opportunity” to give your child the very best orthodontic treatment possible, which will result in:
• Avoiding the extraction of permanent teeth.
• A balanced facial profile with optimal support for the lips which will support long term facial appearance.
• A beautiful full broad smile
