In some cases it is beneficial to wear a URA in conjunction with a night brace (headgear) to place additional force on your teeth, ensuring that the rear teeth move back and the front teeth do not move forward.
For many child patients, the wearing of headgear is essential to get the best possible result. The Nightbrace should be worn for a minimum of 12
hours per night. However, the longer its worn the faster the movement will take place. Some children may benefit from wearing the brace during the day. However, this is not essential.
The space and movement gained from wearing the Nightbrace can be lost very quickly if it is not worn as directed. Partents should contact the surgery immediately if there is any reason why your child can not wear it.
Nobody should interfere with the headgear when it is being worn and the safety strap must be worn as instructed.
