Traditional Braces
Most people are familiar with traditional braces. They are the type that go on the outside of your teeth.
Traditional metal braces are usually made from stainless steel but ceramics can also now be used in traditional braces. This helps them blend in with your natural tooth colour.
Traditional braces are excellent in treating all types of cases and can quickly straighten teeth when compared to aligner type braces.
Treatment can range anywhere from 6 months (relapse & very simple cases) to around two years (complex bite cases).
Traditional braces are fairly robust and easy to maintain.
They take about an hour to fit and then are usually adjusted every 6-8 weeks. Regular visits should take about 15 minutes or so with one last long appointment to remove the brace and fit a retainer.
